S4S Dental Laboratory have been offering ECPD verifiable seminars for more than ten years. Each is presented by key industry speakers in their respective fields.
The programme has seen more than 6,000 dentists attend to discover the theory behind these ever-present conditions and how they can help treat their patients presenting with symptoms.
Starting originally in 2005 as Solutions 4 Snoring, S4S Dental have always been passionate about raising awareness of conditions such as snoring and OSA and bruxism amongst the general public – as well as dentists. This highlights that there are effective treatments that can be provided by GDPs.
Course content
- Snoring and OSA – a role for the GDP: more than 40 million people in the UK alone are reported to suffer from snoring. Additionally, it is said that approximately 1.5 million people are suffering from OSA – 85% of which are undiagnosed. With stark figures like this, it is important to stress to patients that you, the dentist, can help. This course covers everything needed to confidently screen your patients and identify their risk of OSA before prescribing MAS therapy. It is also recognised by medical indemnifiers
- Successful splint therapy for TMD and bruxism: this course helps you to understand what Bruxism is, how to effectively screen your patients, and how to help relieve any presenting signs or symptoms using an occlusal splint
- Myth-busting occlusion for the general dentist: taking a more theoretical approach, this course looks at occlusion. When it matters and when it doesn’t, common myths of dentistry, occlusal splint options and non-compliance of splints and how to avoid this
- Smilelign essentials: everything you need to know: Launched in 2012, Smilelign is celebrating ten years in the industry this year. It is now used by thousands of dentists throughout the UK. This course equips you with everything you need to get started offering in your practice. From impressions right through to retention.

- Professor Ama Johal – a professor of dental sleep medicine, Professor Johal has been involved in both clinical treatment, development and research in this field for over 20 years. His work has been presented both nationally and internationally
- Dr Barry Oulton – a highly experienced dentist and vocational trainer, Dr Oulton brings a wealth of practical knowledge to the subject of Bruxism and its associated treatments
- Dr Barry Glassman – an internationally recognised authority on bruxism and related issues. He has lectured worldwide on the subject of chronic pain management

Learn in-person or online
We understand that people learn in different ways. As such, all four ECPD seminars available can be attended either online or in-person. In fact, each course has 3 different learning options: online course only, online package and In-person.
New for 2022, each course now includes a hands-on element to further aid learning. This includes making a Chairside Sci on our Bruxism courses, IPR, Attachments and Bonded Retainer techniques on our Smilelign course and a screening protocols workshop on our snoring course.
