Melina Paschali, winner of Best Orthodontics Invisalign at the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards 2019, reveals how her love for aesthetic dentistry drove her to enter.
How do you feel to have won your award?
MP Absolutely thrilled. Being nominated amongst such talented clinicians was a huge honour by itself.
Dentistry is a competitive industry that requires continuous development and hard work in order to be successful. Acknowledgement for these efforts is also very rewarding.
Entering for the awards
What made you enter the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards?
MP It is truly inspiring to see the amazing cases presented every year at the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards. Entering has been a great opportunity to be a part of this celebration of excellence in dentistry. An added bonus is sharing my work with peers.
How did you compile your entry and why did you choose your particular case to present?
MP My entry consisted of clinical photographs and snaps from the digital planning process. Alongside an evidence-based case report outlining the treatment rationale and progress.
I chose my case not only because of the final aesthetic outcome. But also because of the overall improvement of the patient’s occlusion and the impact this had on their life.
Above all, the case is close to my heart since it was one of the first where I pushed the limits of what is possible with aligners. It therefore forever changed my perception of what is a complex and what is a straightforward case.
