‘Significant decline’ in number of dental graduates taking up foundation training
The dental profession is witnessing a ‘larger than usual’ decrease in the number of dental graduates accepting foundation training places.
This week, Eddie Crouch, chair of the British Dental Association (BDA), told fmc-stage.thinkdemo.co.uk that practices are reporting a drop in the uptake of foundation places by newly-qualified dentists.
Although further research is needed to confirm the trend, it may come as no surprise given the chaos associated with the NHS during the pandemic.
