Angry customers left out of pocket

shutterstock_281632022Pure Clinic, based in Manchester, has closed leaving hundreds of customers thousands of pounds out of pocket.

Many patients have been left with their dental work only partially completed, after the dental company advertised itself with special offers on Groupon.

Some had spent more than £1,000 on Six Month Smiles treatment at the practice, which provoked the British Orthodontic Society (BOS) to respond to those patients who are unable to continue their orthodontic treatment due to closure of the clinics responsible for their ongoing care.

‘Orthodontics is a specialist area of dentistry,’ Richard George, director of external relations at the BOS, said.

‘We recommend that any member of the public considering orthodontics asks carefully about the training and qualifications of their provider before embarking on treatment.’

Richard continued by advising that patients wearing orthodontic braces without a provider should talk to their general dental practitioner and seek a referral so that treatment can either be continued or the braces removed, depending on the circumstances.
