Victoria Wilson reveals the thinking behind the launch of Smile Revolution, a new podcast for dental hygienists and therapists.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I qualified as a dental therapist from the Eastman in 2003 and have been totally dedicated to our profession ever since – I genuinely love what I do!

I chose a career that I am fortunate to feel so passionate about 16 years on.

Early on in my career, I was fortunate enough to work with some superb clinicians in settings such as Bow Lane Dental and Darwood and Tanner.  In 2006, I moved to Dubai where I founded the Emirates Dental Hygienists Club and am a former president.

I completed a bachelor’s degree in oral health promotion in 2015 from O’Hehir University. Currently I hold an honoury lecture position for the behavioural change module for the MSc in dental hygiene at the Eastman, along with sitting on the communication and public relations committee for the International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH).

I consult for Enlighten Smiles and am a KOL for Philips Oral Healthcare and Dentsply Sirona.

I have worked clinically since qualifying until more recently when I went on maternity leave.
